    Lital Marom's Speech Descriptions

Lital Marom helps businesses get an edge on how to prosper in the Digital Age. The internationally known digital transformation expert separates the hype from reality when it comes to emerging technologies like AI, IoT, and Blockchain. Her passion for future proofing businesses via integrating emerging technologies fuels each one of her knowledge-packed presentations, leaving audiences inspired and prepared to disrupt their market before somebody else does.

Digital Transformation: Platforms Shaping Industry Structures
The platform multi-sided market is one of the most important economic and social developments of our time. The growth of tech giants such as Google and Amazon has been impressive. Companies such as Uber and Airbnb grew from zero to dominance in only a few years. All the companies that emerged in the past decade have one fundamental thing in common that helps them scale exponentially and dominate markets – that’s the platform business model

This talk lays out the fundamental differences that set platforms apart and the key drivers for its success. Whether you’re building a platform business or not, you can’t succeed in today’s economy without understanding how platforms work.

Digital Innovation: Exponential technologies and scale
Shifting from an incremental to an exponential strategy is the first step towards real transformative growth. Much of this transformation is a result of rapidly accelerating exponential technologies such as Infinite Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, 3D Printing, Sensors, Networks, and Synthetic Biology.

During this presentation, you will get a real sense of the shifts (taking examples from multiple industries) and the key principles that separate successful companies from the unsuccessful ones in the digital economy.

THINK BIG AND ACT FAST | How to Self-Disrupt in the Digital Age
A new breed of companies are growing and scaling at a pace never seen before. Many are reaching $1B market CAPs in a matter of years, some in a matter of months. Their secret? A platform business model.

For classic companies born before the digital era, it’s a whole new world where age, size, sales, and market CAP won’t guarantee market presence tomorrow. But there’s hope—Lital Marom shares the unique opportunities and key advantages that classic companies have over today’s modern startups. Opportunities and advantages to tap into new markets and new sources of revenue using the assets and capabilities that they already have.

In this talk, Lital Marom shows classic companies how to disrupt themselves before someone else does—by thinking big and acting fast.

Shaping the Future of Work: 21st century skills
Lital founded the Academy of Tomorrow with the mission to prepare the next generation for the future of work.

The gap between the skills people learn and the skills people need is becoming more obvious, as traditional learning falls short of equipping students with the knowledge they need to thrive, according to the World Economic Forum.

So, what separates individuals with strong 21st century skills from individuals competing without these skills?

    Attention: The new creative currency
As barriers to entrepreneurship disappear, the race for attention will repeatedly separate the winners from the losers. How do startups like Instagram, WhatsApp, and AirBnb build massive user bases without a marketing team?

How do individuals like Eric Ries build a huge global following without ever appearing on the metaphorical TED stage? How do self-published books like Fifty Shades of Grey gain worldwide appeal with zero marketing budget?

This keynote answers these questions by laying out a strategic framework to leverage the network to market you or your business.

Upended: How one tiny upstart can disrupt a giant incumbent
“Where should community fit in my organization?” and “What is the business value of community?” are questions we hear from business leaders daily.

This keynote unpacks how new entrants are unbundling incumbents’ businesses and chipping away at their advantage. It lays out the key strategies enabling new social and business communities, which cultivate scale and exponential growth.

    Lital Marom on Speaking

Experiencing so many different cultures and places has taught me to see things from different perspectives, and not get too attached to a specific paradigm. And today, where the only constant is change, this way of being is more important than ever.

SPEAKING.COM: So you’ve built multiple businesses, and lived in many places—what’s your story?

MAROM: I’m originally from Israel, and shortly after finishing my mandatory military service, I went to university. After graduating as an engineer, I moved to Europe to build computer systems. After a few more years, I got more into the business side of these systems, leading the sales and digital strategy for a global company across three continents. When I decided to leave the corporate world, I moved to NYC to start my entrepreneurial journey with my innovation and management consulting company, UNFOLD.

I’ve lived in 10 countries to date; primarily in Europe, the US, and now Canada. Moving places is not always easy, but as I’ve learned to embrace change, I’ve learned to get excited about it, too. Experiencing so many different cultures and places has taught me to see things from different perspectives, and not get too attached to a specific paradigm. And today, where the only constant is change, this way of being is more important than ever. Seeing firsthand how valuable this skill has been in my own life is what drives me to help others embrace change.

SPEAKING.COM: What’s grabbing your attention in the world?

MAROM: What I find interesting is the convergence of different disciplines, whether that’s combining science, technology, and art, or exponential technologies such as 3D, AI, and robotics. The convergence of such distinct things creates new systems and experiences. That’s exciting to me and it’s why I think the future belongs to polymaths, because they’re able to make connections that otherwise ignored, and it leads to a unique new perspective.

SPEAKING.COM: What do you want people to take away from your presentations?

MAROM: I help people realize they have everything they need to be successful and empower them with ways to think big and act fast in this new economy.

Typically, my keynotes address a legacy enterprise audience. This keynote was an exciting opportunity to bring my message to business owners of small and medium-sized enterprises, helping them to capture a larger market share.

SPEAKING.COM: What particularly memorable speaking engagements have you had while on the road?

MAROM: One of the most memorable speaking experiences was in Sao Paulo last year. I spoke in front of 10,000 business owners at Mercado Livre’s annual digital summit event. (Mercado Livre is the Amazon of Latin America, operating in 18 countries.) Typically, my keynotes address a legacy enterprise audience. This keynote was an exciting opportunity to bring my message to business owners of small and medium-sized enterprises, helping them to capture a larger market share. As an entrepreneur, this really speaks to my heart.

SPEAKING.COM: What types of audiences would most benefit from your message?

    MAROM:
    • CEOs, CFOs, Chairmen, Board Members who are looking for new insights and perspectives on how to disrupt their business, create new growth, and scale in a fast-changing digital world.
    • Chief Digital Officers and their teams who are looking for best practice in digital transformation, how to implement digital business models and manage internal change.
    • Business leaders who want new ways to dramatically boost value for customers and all stakeholders across multiple industries (banking, insurance, tourism, pharma, industrial distributors, etc).
    • Corporate Strategy, Marketing, Operations, IT, and HR leaders and their teams who are tasked with driving or supporting innovation and growth.
    • Intrapreneurs and entrepreneurs who are looking to understand cutting-edge best practice in digital business model strategy and how to implement it.
    • Investors looking for new ways to assess and value companies and new market opportunities.

I have three guidelines for any keynote that I create and deliver: it must be educational, inspiring, and entertaining.

SPEAKING.COM: How much do case studies, personal stories and or humor factor into your keynote speech content?

MAROM: I have three guidelines for any keynote that I create and deliver: it must be educational, inspiring, and entertaining. Industry case studies bring big ideas to life while my personal stories help me to connect with my audience. Last but not least, humor is a critical part of an overall entertaining experience.

SPEAKING.COM: What are some of the successes you’ve helped clients make?

MAROM: The biggest successes have come when legacy enterprises embrace an exponential mindset. As they’ve broken through their traditional linear systems, they’ve reached beyond the boundaries of their industries to form new partnerships, operate in new markets, and create new revenue streams. This is what I mean about hacking your future and reimagining your business. This is what I mean by thinking big.
