Mr. Deepak Sharma served as the Chairman of Citi Private Bank at Citigroup, Inc. from November 2009 to April 30, 2014. Mr. Sharma served as the Chief Executive Officer of Global Wealth Management International at Citigroup Inc., and also served as its Head of U.S. private bank (Citi Private Bank) and Head of Citi Smith Barney.

Mr. Sharma served as the Chief Executive Officer of Global Wealth Management of Asia- Pacific region and Middle East region, Singapore for Citigroup Inc., since March 2005. Mr. Sharma’s career has spanned different functional and geographical areas in the Citigroup global network, which includes management positions in Operations and Technology, Treasury, Strategic Planning, Electronic Banking, and Private Bank & Investment Management.

He worked with Citigroup in India, Korea, Saudi Arabia, USA, and Switzerland prior to coming to Asia to take up his current assignment with the Private Bank. In Switzerland, he served at The Citigroup Private Bank as Head for the Middle East North Africa Region. He serves as Chairman of The Citigroup Private Bank. Mr. Sharma is a Co-founder and Trustee of Indiapore Trust.

He is a Trustee of Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA) which is a self-help group whose primary focus is to reach out and empower low-income families to stand on their own feet. He is a board member of the Singapore Tyler Print Institute.

Prior to Citigroup as a Management Associate in 1976, he did a short stint as a scientist at Bhabha Atomic Research Center in India.

Mr. Sharma received his graduate degree in Chemistry and a Masters in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
