Caitlyn Jenner's speaking fee falls within range: Over $75,000
Caitlyn Jenner has perhaps had the most publicized gender transition in the world. An “all-American hero” who broke the world record for the grueling decathlon in the 1976 Olympic Games, Caitlyn had already spent decades in the spotlight before she chose to openly announce and discuss her transition from male to female in a 2015 Vanity Fair cover story and a televised interview with Diane Sawyer.
As a male, Jenner was the epitome of grit, discipline, and success. After winning Olympic gold, Jenner served as spokesperson for Wheaties, frequently graced mainstream magazine covers, and was even considered for the role of Superman in the original 1978 film. Her career continued into recent years with several television and movie spots. Most notably, Jenner’s marriage to Kris Jenner Kardashian led to a starring role in Keeping up with the Kardashians.
Since coming out with her transgender identity, Jenner has used her position to bring attention to gender dysphoria, violence against trans women, and other transgender issues. She has addressed Susan Powers, the U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. on the topic, and has been listed in the Time 100 after appearing in their shortlist for the 2015 “Person of the Year.”
Jenner can be seen E!’s I Am Cait a series that documents how her gender transition has affected her relationships with others. She is working with Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Buzz Bissinger on a memoir that captures her story about coming to terms with her gender identity. The book is expected to be released in 2017.
Caitlyn Jenner, then known as Bruce Jenner, jumped into our hearts in 1976 when, as a male, he broke the world record for the Olympic decathlon, scoring 8,634 points at the Olympic Games in Montreal and earning the title of “World’s Greatest Athlete.” The Nation celebrated along with him, and his performance inspired a generation of athletes. Bruce’s accomplishments earned him the coveted Wheaties cereal box and, of several hundred athletes who have been featured, Jenner is one of seven Wheaties spokesmen.
In the years following Caitlyn’s athletic achievements, Caitlyn has been involved in a wide variety of projects and causes: been a guest star on numerous primetime television programs, a commentator for NBC, ABC and Fox sports, and host of a health show. Caitlyn is a supporter of many charitable organization and serves on several advisory boards.
Caitlyn is also an entrepreneur, commercial spokesperson, television personality, actor, producer, and author. A devoted parent of ten, when she isn’t making corporate appearances, Caitlyn can be found spending time with her family onscreen on E! Network’s Keeping up with the Kardashians. Rated as the #1 show for the first two seasons, the series documents the daily lives of the Kardashian/Jenner family. Off screen and outside of work, Caitlyn finds time to enjoy hobbies including flying planes, racing cars in Grand Prix events, and working on her golf game.
Caitlyn, then known as Bruce, has also been a sportscaster and commentator for a number of NBC sporting events, including the Olympic Games and received the title “Outstanding International Sportscaster of the Year.”
Caitlyn has accomplished a great deal. Interestingly, the core of Caitlyn’s message is about others more than it is about herself. Caitlyn is focused on the theme that any person who makes an effort can achieve something great—greatness is at the core of every man, woman and child who wants it. One powerful way to inherit greatness is to simply give and be yourself.
Caitlyn Jenner calls on the world to respect and support transgender people. Drawing from her own transition story and those of others, she relays the hardships, isolation, and confusion transgendered people cope with while trying to come to terms with their true identity in a world that fears and rejects what it doesn’t understand. Many journeys to sort out gender-identity end in homicide or suicide.
Caitlyn hopes that by publicly sharing her story and promoting the need “to accept people for who they are”, she can change attitudes and prevent future tragedies. “We have come a long way,” she remarks, listing a few recent landmark accomplishments in transgender rights and awareness. “But we have a lot of work to do.”
Caitlyn takes the audience on a tour of her life as an Olympian, broadcaster, then father and reality television star, all the while trying to figure out who she really was. The speaker uses her spotlight and story in raising awareness about issues facing the trans community. From training to capture Olympic glory to her unprecedented openness regarding her gender transition, Jenner has unmatched experience in overcoming adversity and succeeding in high-pressure situations.
