Turning a problem into a passion-driven career, Meagan Johnson has become the go-to generational expert. Her research keeps pace with today’s fluctuating workplace dynamic as she teaches clients how to communicate successfully with individual generations so that they can achieve financial success, personal growth and enriched company morale.
During the 1990s, while working for companies like Quaker Oats, Kraft Foods, and Xerox, Meagan often heard negative comments about Gen Xers. These comments included terms like “slackers,” “gold collar workers”, and even “the Beavis and Butthead generation.” Being a Gen Xer herself, Meagan knew those terms were unfair, untrue, and hurtful so she began researching small and large businesses to debunk generational myths and discover the most effective ways to solve clashes. That research gave birth to thousands of generational presentations as well as her best selling book Generations Inc., From Boomers To Linksters: Managing the Friction Between Generations at Work.
Now Meagan uses her comical brilliance and unique understanding of four major age groups to help companies make the most of this diversity while getting generations to live and work together without name-calling and bloodshed. Since launching her speaking career in 1998, she has constantly been evolving and updating her message and techniques so they are always on-the-spot relevant. Her lengthy list of clients include: Harley-Davidson Motor CO, Dairy Queen, American Academy of Nursing, and Visit Florida.

- Meagan Johnson graduated from Arizona State University Business School with a BS in Marketing. She spent several years working in sales for companies like Quaker Oats, Kraft Foods and Xerox. At every company Meagan became discouraged to hear all the negative comments about Generation X. (Generation X is the 50 million people born between 1965 and 1980.)
Being a Gen Xer herself, she felt these comments were unfounded. She was further frustrated by the blinders her own managers seemed to have. “There was this perception of only one way to get ahead and be successful at work. The career path my managers expected me to take was very traditional. They seemed to be unable to look at a different way of training and career management that was relevant to younger employees.”
Meagan has continued her research into the complexities of the younger workforce.
Meagan is an active member of NSA, National Speakers Association. In 2003, she received her CSP, Certified Speaking Professional designation. Currently, only ten percent of professional speakers hold this designation. As a Gen Xer Meagan was extremely proud to be one of the youngest recipients of the CSP designation.
