“Jean Houston’s mind should be considered a national treasure”, said Buckminster Fuller, a renowned American philosopher, thinker, visionary, inventor, architect, engineer, mathematician, poet and cosmologist. A life-long friend of Jean Houston, his observation is shared by the thousands of individuals, communities, organizations and nations that have been and continue to be inspired by her words.
Spiritual leader, Jean Houston urges people to awaken their full potential and take part in what she refers to as the “greatest transition drama the world has ever seen”. For the first time in recorded history the emerging narrative shaping our world and understanding of it centers on teamwork as oppose to a single hero; this narrative includes women, people of many ethnicities, and of all ages.
However, to see this transition through, she claims we need to become “social artists,” people who are able to enter different cultures, make themselves available, and continuously educate their whole self and the whole selves of others. “A social artist is a healer,” she states. “We’re talking about healing as evolutional: there’s somewhere to go. There’s something to become.”
Jean Houston is a master of creating an environment where people are free to think, talk, and act creatively and daringly for a better collective humanity. Through her seminars, lectures, and workshops, she has inspired and enlightened groups ranging from spiritual seekers to IBM executives to the United Nations.
