Savannah Guthrie's speaking fee falls within range: Over $75,000
Savannah Guthrie is the co-anchor of the Today show and NBC’s News Chief Legal Correspondent.
Guthrie got her start in local news before transferring to WRC-TV in Washington D.C., where she covered major stories such as 9-11, the Pentagon attack, and the 2001 anthrax attacks. She followed her passion for law to George Washington University and scored first place on the Arizona Bar exam that year. After working as a litigation associate, she became a legal correspondent for CourtTV, reporting on high profile trials such as the Michael Jackson trial and the Martha Stewart case.
She has conducted a wide range of exclusive news-maker interviews, including President Barack Obama, former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Samantha Power and former U.S. Representative Gabby Giffords. She has sat down with other notable figures and celebrities from Meryl Streep and Johnny Depp to Cleveland kidnapping victim Michelle Knight and former Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill.
Since assuming the cohost position at the Today show, Guthrie has used her platform to raise awareness of Down’s Syndrome, in honor of her Uncle Pierce, a Down’s Syndrome patient who defied doctors’ predictions that he would never talk or walk. Guthrie has hosted the National Down Syndrome Society Auction and Gala and is a passionate advocate for the organization.

Guthrie joined NBC in September 2007 as a legal analyst and correspondent, regularly reporting on trials throughout the country. After serving as a White House correspondent between 2008 and 2011 and as co-anchor of the MSNBC program The Daily Rundown in 2010 and 2011, Guthrie was announced as the co-host of The Today Show’s third hour alongside Natalie Morales and Al Roker. In that role she substituted as news anchor and main co-host, and appeared as the Chief Legal Analyst across all NBC platforms.
After substituting for both Meredith Vieira and Ann Curry on Today, it was confirmed on May 9, 2012, that Guthrie would become co-host of the 9 a.m. hour, alongside Natalie Morales and Al Roker, and the show’s Chief Legal Editor. On June 29, 2012, Guthrie was named co-anchor of Today following Ann Curry’s departure.
The move came after Vieira announced her departure from the show as co-host of the main program, and the subsequent promotions of Curry and Morales to main co-host and news anchor respectively. Guthrie departed The Daily Rundown for Today on June 8, 2012. She also became NBC News’ Chief Legal Analyst, making her first appearance in this role on May 25, 2011.
Guthrie debuted as Today show co-anchor, alongside Matt Lauer, Morales and Roker, on Monday, July 9, 2012.

Framing Hobart and Williams Smith Colleges' Commencement Address in the familiar format of a local newscast, Today co-host, Savannah Guthrie gives students “the news, forecast, sports and a word from our sponsors” concerning stepping out into the world. She starts off with the headline, “Now is not the time to settle.”
Despite the fears and concerns graduates might have about entering a tight job market, Guthrie assures them that now is the best time to dream big and even unrealistically. She learned this lesson when she was considering whether or not to leave her local television news position to go to law school, worried that giving up her job meant that she would never get a chance to work in television again.
“I think the problem with all of us sometimes is we think of all the reasons we can’t do something before we even try,” Guthrie notes. “Think of what you might accomplish if you directed all that compelling forceful energy to convince yourself why you can do it.”
New York Women in Communications honored Savannah Guthrie with their annual Matrix Award. Following an intro by Matt Lauer, Savannah accepted her award with a moving heartfelt speech.
